Abusive husbands face absolute legal ruin.
Chloe went completely pale, her hands dropping away from Marcus’s arm as if he were suddenly radioactive.
"That... that's a lie!" Chloe stammered, backing away toward the living room sofa. "Prove it! You can't prove anything!"
"We don't need to prove it to you, Chloe," Dominic said, stepping up to Marcus, who looked like a broken man pinned against the oak wall of his own foyer. "We’re handing the forensic phone extractions, the witness statements from the hallway, and the medical documentation of Maya’s injuries directly to the District Attorney's office in the morning."
Marcus dropped his head, his hands clenching into useless fists at his sides.

"For nine years, Marcus, you told me I was nothing," I said, my voice steady, clear, and laced with absolute power. "You told me I had no money, no voice, and nowhere to go. You thought making me feel small made you feel big."
I pointed a finger toward the front door where the shattered iron gates lay twisted in the driveway.
"You gave me until tomorrow morning to pay you ten thousand dollars," I continued. "Instead, my family bought your entire company, foreclosed on your loans, and locked you out of your own estate."
Marcus stared at me, realizing the terrifying truth.

"Pack your bags, Marcus," I commanded, turning my back on him. "You and your mistress have sixty seconds to walk out that front door before my brothers finish what they started."
