PART 4: The Gates Come Down

PART 4: The Gates Come Down
Iron security barriers buckle under heavy pressure.
Marcus frowned, turning his head toward the massive floor-to-ceiling front windows that overlooked the circular driveway.
The security lights outside flickered sharply.
Then came the unmistakable sound of heavy steel tires crunching over landscaping, followed by the violent crash of the estate’s automated iron security gates being forced entirely off their motorized hinges.
"What the hell...?" Marcus muttered, setting his glass down with a hard clatter. "Is that a delivery truck?"
He strode aggressively toward the front foyer, throwing open the heavy mahogany entrance door to investigate the disturbance.
I followed closely behind him, a cold, quiet smile touching the corners of my mouth.
Pulling up the circular driveway in a tight, military-style tactical formation were five identical matte-black Cadillac Escalades, their high-beam headlights blindingly bright, casting harsh white shadows across the pristine front lawn.
The doors flew open simultaneously.
Out stepped five tall, broad-shouldered men dressed in tailored charcoal suits, led by my eldest brother, Dominic, whose sharp jawline and piercing grey eyes radiated pure, unadulterated executive fury.
Behind him came Dante, the real estate tycoon; Leo, the federal banking auditor; Julian, the corporate fixer; and Mateo, the security contractor who had built half the private defense fortresses in the state.
Marcus staggered backward, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water as he recognized the high-powered legal and financial heavyweights stepping onto his porch.
"D-Dominic?!" Marcus stammered, his color draining instantly. "What... what are you doing here? How did you get past the security gates?"
Dominic didn't even break his stride.
May you like
He marched straight up the marble steps, flanked by his four brothers, looking at Marcus the way a surgeon looks at a cancerous tumor.
"You broke our sister’s gate, Marcus," Dominic said coldly, his voice slicing through the night air like a razor. "Now we’re going to break yours."
