PART 3 – The Lie Hidden Inside the Photograph

PART 3 – The Lie Hidden Inside the Photograph

The operating room doors closed behind me.

Doctors fought desperately to stop my premature labor.

Meanwhile...

Ethan drove straight to the fertility clinic.

Dr. Benjamin Ross was already waiting.

The moment he saw Ethan's face...

He knew something terrible had happened.

"Is Lillian alright?"

Ethan placed Vanessa's phone on the desk.

"These pictures."

"My family says this proves she's cheating."

Dr. Ross looked once.

Then laughed bitterly.

"I'm seventy-two years old."

"I've delivered more babies than I can count."

"I certainly hope no one thinks I'm having affairs with my patients."

He opened a secure medical file.

Inside were years of records.

Hormone treatments.

Failed IVF cycles.

Surgical reports.

Then...

One final document.

A DNA preservation certificate.

Because Ethan had been deployed overseas during the IVF process, military regulations required paternity verification before implantation.

The report left no room for doubt.

Probability of paternity:

99.9999%.

Dr. Ross looked Ethan in the eyes.

"This baby is yours."

"It always has been."

Ethan's jaw tightened.

"So the photographs..."

"Were taken outside this clinic."

"Exactly."

The doctor paused.

"Someone followed your wife for months."

"They knew where she was going."

"They wanted these visits to look like secret meetings."

Ethan suddenly remembered something.

Vanessa had always known his deployment schedule.

She knew every medical appointment.

She even offered to drive Lillian to treatment several times.

She hadn't been helping.

She'd been watching.

Just then...

Detective Laura Bennett called.

"Captain Brooks..."

"We found security footage from your house."

"What did it show?"

There was a long silence.

Then the detective spoke quietly.

"Your sister didn't just push your wife."

"She admitted why."

Ethan's heart stopped.

"What do you mean?"

"The camera recorded everything."

"And I think..."

"...this was never about adultery."

May you like

"It was about your inheritance."
