PART 7: The Unbroken Bond

PART 7: The Unbroken Bond

Fierce love outlasts every violent storm.

Looking back at the moment my phone buzzed during that suffocating budget meeting, I realized how thin the line is between an ordinary workday and a total nightmare.

A single phone call had threatened to tear my entire world apart.

A single cry for help had tested the limits of my courage, my family, and my sanity.

Yet, out of the ashes of that violent afternoon, something unbreakable had been forged.

We had survived the worst life could throw at us because we refused to stand alone.

I laughed with him, lying down beside my son on the floor, pulling him close into my arms.

The front door unlocked, and Derek’s heavy footsteps echoed in the hallway as he walked into our home, carrying a bag of fresh-baked cookies and a smile.

The storm had passed.
