"I've never been better, Caleb," she smiled, reaching up to pat my cheek. "You know... that old gray dress didn't deserve to be ruined like that anyway. I think it’s time I went shopping for something a bit more colorful."
I laughed out loud, the sound echoing happily across the quiet courtyard.
"Name your budget, Mom," I said. "You can buy out half of Fifth Avenue if you want to."
