PART 5: Dawn Breaks Over an Empty Estate

PART 5: Dawn Breaks Over an Empty Estate

Sheriffs deliver the final eviction notice.

The autumn sky transitioned from a bruised indigo to a pale, clinical gray as the first rays of dawn crept over the horizon of the Greenwich estate.

True to Colton Global's immaculate operational efficiency, the sunrise didn't just bring daylight; it brought the merciless machinery of justice.

At exactly 6:00 AM, a long line of professional moving vans, accompanied by three marked patrol cars from the county sheriff’s department, rolled down the pristine gravel driveway of the Kessler mansion.

Inside the grand house, the scene was one of utter, chaotic despair.

My mother and I were sitting in the kitchen of our upstate manor, enjoying a quiet breakfast of fresh pancakes and black coffee, watching the live security feed from the Greenwich property streamed directly onto our tablet.

On the screen, Victor Kessler stood on the front steps of his multimillion-dollar mansion wearing a rumpled tuxedo jacket over pajama pants, screaming hysterically at the deputy sheriffs.

"You can't do this! Do you know who I am?!" Victor yelled, waving a fist in the air as a court bailiff calmly walked past him and slapped a bright red Notice of Vacate sticker across the double front doors. "This is private property! I am Victor Kessler!"

"Not anymore, Mr. Kessler," the sheriff’s captain replied evenly, resting his hand on his holster. "The deed belongs to Colton Holdings. You have thirty minutes to collect your personal effects and step off the premises before we enforce physical removal."

Behind him, Sabrina stood in the doorway wrapped in an expensive silk robe, her mascara running down her tear-stained cheeks, staring in absolute horror as professional movers began stacking designer luggage and unopened wedding gifts onto the wet grass of the lawn.

The high-society fairy tale had officially turned into a public eviction notice.

No guests were cheering for them now. No quartet was playing sweet melodies.

Just the cold wind, the indifferent authorities, and the crushing weight of karma arriving right on schedule.
