PART 2 – The Hospital Test That Changed Everything

PART 2 – The Hospital Test That Changed Everything

Luke had never complained about his heart before.

But as Brandon carried him toward the car, the little boy pressed a tiny hand against his chest.

"It hurts, Daddy..."

His face had turned unusually pale.

Within twenty minutes...

Doctors rushed Luke into the emergency department at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

The family arrived shortly afterward.

Even Madeline.

She stood silently near the waiting room, saying nothing.

Hours passed.

Finally, Dr. Emily Ross walked toward them holding a clipboard.

"Luke is stable."

Everyone exhaled.

"But we found something unexpected."

The doctor looked directly at Brandon.

"We need to discuss his blood type."

Brandon frowned.

"What about it?"

The doctor hesitated.

"Luke's blood type doesn't match the medical history listed in your family records."

Madeline suddenly gripped the armrest so tightly her knuckles turned white.

Dr. Ross continued.

"That doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong..."

"But we'd like to repeat some family testing."

Brandon nodded.

"Do whatever you need."

Madeline quietly whispered,

"No..."

But nobody heard her.

For the first time all afternoon...

Fear appeared on her face.

May you like

Not anger.

Fear.
