PART 4: Twenty-Three Years of Lies

Evelyn laughed.

A desperate...

Broken laugh.

"You have no proof."

Detective Sarah Collins calmly placed a flash drive onto the table.

"We do now."

The ballroom screens came alive.

Old surveillance footage appeared.

A private marina.

Smoke.

Flames.

Chaos.

Then...

A younger Evelyn's father carrying a crying infant away from the burning yacht.

Not toward rescue boats...

But toward another waiting vehicle.

The room erupted.

Richard grabbed the edge of a chair to keep from collapsing.

"My granddaughter..."

"...was alive."

Detective Collins nodded.

"The child wasn't killed."

"She was hidden."

"For inheritance."

Emma could barely breathe.

"My mother..."

"...wasn't really my mother?"

"No."

"The woman who raised you was your nanny."

"She rescued you."

"She spent twenty-three years hiding because she knew the people behind the kidnapping would never stop searching."

Emma burst into tears.

"She died believing I'd never know who I really was."

Richard gently embraced her.

"No."

"She died protecting you."

Across the room...

Evelyn suddenly screamed.

"Everything should've been mine!"

"I waited twenty-three years!"

Richard slowly turned toward her.

"And now..."

"You'll spend the rest of your life explaining why."

At that exact moment...

Detective Collins received another phone call.

She looked up.

"We've found someone."

"Someone who's been hiding since the yacht fire."

Richard whispered,

"My son..."

The detective nodded.

May you like

"He's alive."
