PART 3: The Daughter They Stole

Richard ordered the ballroom doors locked.
No one would leave.
Not until the truth came out.
His family attorney arrived carrying dusty archive boxes from the Ashcroft estate.
Inside were photographs...
Hospital records...
DNA files...
And one faded picture of a smiling baby wearing the exact same necklace.
Emma stared at the photograph.
Tears streamed down her face.
"That's..."
"...me."
Richard couldn't answer.
He simply nodded.
But before anyone could celebrate...
The family attorney frowned.
"Something doesn't match."
He held up adoption records.
"The official report says the baby died."
Richard looked confused.
"I buried an empty coffin."
The attorney slowly opened another file.
"It wasn't an accident."
"The fire was real..."
"But someone altered every record afterward."
Every eye turned toward Evelyn.
She took one nervous step backward.
"This has nothing to do with me."
The attorney looked directly at her.
"Actually..."
"It has everything to do with you."
Twenty-three years earlier...
Evelyn's late father had been Ashcroft Shipping's chief legal advisor.
He was the man responsible for declaring the child dead.
Richard's hands began shaking.
"You knew?"
Evelyn remained silent.
Then...
Her phone buzzed.
One message appeared across the screen.
LEAVE NOW.
Richard noticed.
"So..."
"You weren't working alone."
Just then...
Police officers entered the ballroom.
But they weren't there to arrest Emma.
They walked directly toward Evelyn.
"Mrs. Harrington..."
"We need you to answer questions regarding identity fraud..."
May you like
"...and the disappearance of an Ashcroft heir."
