PART 6: A New Rhythm in the Manor
Lullabies replace sterile mansion silences.
By the following week, the atmosphere inside Foxbridge Manor had undergone a radical, seismic transformation that left the remaining estate staff whispering in stunned awe.
The sterile silence of the glass and steel halls was finally broken by the gentle sound of lullabies drifting up from the second-floor nursery.
Hudson had canceled his immediate international flights, shifted his tech startup's executive board meetings to encrypted video calls from his home study, and cleared his schedule entirely.
For the first time, he spent his mornings not reviewing stock tickers, but sitting in a rocking chair beside Naomi, learning how to feed, burpe, and swaddle his five daughters.
The high-priced nannies who used to argue over shift schedules were permanently dismissed, replaced by a dedicated medical support team working directly under Naomi’s leadership.
One evening, as twilight painted the upstate New York hills in shades of purple and gold, Hudson found Naomi sitting by the panoramic living room window, rocking baby Chloe while the other four slept peacefully in their customized cribs.
He walked over quietly, holding two cups of hot chamomile tea, and handed one to her.
"You're working yourself to the bone again, Naomi," Hudson noted softly, taking a seat on the modern velvet sofa nearby. "You need to rest. I can take the night shift."
Naomi accepted the cup with a warm, tired smile, steam rising into the cool evening air.
"I'm used to it, Mr. Vale," she replied, sipping the tea. "Some people sleep to escape reality. I stay awake because my reality is finally something worth protecting."
Hudson looked at her, realizing how deeply ingrained she had become in the heartbeat of his home.
