PART 6: A New Empire Rises
Unbroken commanders build indestructible futures.
By the following week, the sleek glass-and-steel headquarters of Sterling-Vance Global in downtown Boston had undergone a complete, ruthless operational overhaul.
Every corrupt partner had been purged, every fraudulent contract canceled, and every stolen asset legally repatriated into my primary trust account.
I sat behind the sprawling glass executive desk on the top floor—the exact desk my father had occupied while building his fraudulent empire—now lined with framed military commendations and secure tactical monitors.
The door to the corner office opened quietly, and Julian stepped inside carrying two cups of black coffee, placing one carefully on the minimalist blotter before me.
“The Department of Defense formally accepted our defense-tech integration proposal this morning,” Julian reported, leaning against the edge of the glass desk. “We’re officially the lead prime contractor for next-generation classified logistics across the entire eastern seaboard.”
“Good,” I said, taking a slow sip of the coffee. “Make sure the security protocols are twice as strict as standard civilian regulations. We don’t need any corporate vultures trying to sneak through the back door.”
“Already handled,” Julian nodded. “Speaking of vultures... your sister Harper and your father are being arraigned in federal court this morning. Their defense attorneys tried to file for bail, but the judge denied it flight-risk status immediately.”
I didn't feel a shred of pity.
Grief and family obligation were debts that expired the moment someone tried to bury you alive.
They had chosen greed, betrayal, and cruelty.
Now, they were learning the true cost of their choices inside a federal holding facility.
I looked down at my hands, steady, strong, and capable, remembering the blazing inferno of Blacksite Echo where I had pulled Julian from the burning wreckage of that transport chopper.

That day had left scars that would never fade.
But it had also given me a purpose far greater than any family legacy could ever offer.
