PART 6: Unsung Heroes Receive Their Due

True heroes never ask for recognition.

Mr. Daniels’ daughter gently pulled back from her father, wiping her eyes and turning her attention toward Clara with a look of overwhelming, reverent gratitude.

“Are you... are you Clara?” the woman asked, her voice trembling as she knelt down to look the little girl in the eyes.

Clara smiled and nodded shyly, using her hands to sign a brief greeting.

The daughter immediately pulled Clara into a warm, fierce embrace.

“My father’s companion had a sudden heart attack right before boarding, and we were frantic driving here, terrified he’d be scared in the dark,” the daughter sobbed softly, holding Clara’s hands between her own. “The airline told us someone looked after him the whole way, but we had no idea it was an angel in disguise. Thank you. Thank you for keeping him safe.”

Nearby, several passengers from our flight streamed out of the jet bridge, pausing to watch the touching reunion with bright, smiling faces.

Even the businessman who had offered his seat walked past, tipping his hat respectfully to Clara and offering a warm greeting to Mr. Daniels’ family.
