Part 6: The paper trail of betrayal.
Arthur pressed a button on the boardroom remote, and the massive LED screen at the front of the room flickered to life.
Instantly, bank statements, wire transfers, and intercepted emails filled the screen. Highlighted in bright red were transactions originating from a shell company registered under Richard's name, going directly to former hotel manager Gavin Vance and a network of local henchmen.
"For eight years," Arthur stated, his voice ringing like a judge pronouncing a sentence, "Richard Bennett used company funds to bribe staff, alter mail records, and threaten a young mother hiding in poverty. He deliberately suppressed the existence of my grandson to secure his own position as sole heir."
The board members gasped, looking from the screen to Richard in utter disgust. The very men who had supported Richard moments ago now pulled their chairs back, distancing themselves from him.
"This is fake!" Richard shouted, his voice cracking as panic finally broke through his arrogant facade. "These are fabricated documents! Uncle, you're framing me because you want to get rid of me!"
"Gavin Vance is currently sitting in a police interrogation room down the street," Marcus added, stepping forward from the corner of the room. "He has already signed a full confession detailing how you paid him to ensure Leo was thrown out onto the streets yesterday so he would never reach Mr. Bennett."
Richard collapsed back into his leather chair, sweat breaking out across his forehead. He looked around the table, searching for a single ally among the executives, but every single person looked away, refusing to meet his eyes.
"Richard Bennett," Arthur said, stepping closer to his nephew. "As Chairman and majority owner, I am officially removing you from your position as Vice Chairman. Your shares are frozen pending a full forensic audit, and the authorities are waiting for you downstairs."
Two uniformed police officers stepped through the boardroom doors.
Richard scrambled to his feet, his composure completely shattered. "You can't do this to me! I built this company while you sat in your mansion mourning a dead son! I earned this!"
"You earned a prison cell," Arthur said coldly.
The officers grabbed Richard by his wrists, snapping handcuffs around his arms. As Richard was led out of the boardroom, screaming insults and threats, Leo reached out and took Arthur’s hand.
Arthur looked down at his grandson, his expression softening instantly. He sat down beside Leo, turning to face the remaining members of the board.

"Effective immediately," Arthur announced, "a public trust will be established under Leo Bennett’s name. And fifty million dollars from Richard's seized assets will be donated to establish shelters for homeless women and children across the city."
The board members stood up one by one, breaking into genuine applause.
