PART 4: The Collapse of an Empire

Billionaire facades crumble under police sirens.

"Get him out of my sight," Victoria commanded, her voice dropping into a cold, lethal authority that made the security guards snap into immediate action.

Three guards lunged forward, tackling Alexander to the marble floor and pinning his arms behind his back before he could make a run for the exit.

"You can't do this!" Alexander screamed, thrashing against the floor as his designer tuxedo jacket ripped. "I built this empire! I am Alexander Hayes!"

"You are a monster," Victoria replied coldly, walking past him without a second glance.

She knelt beside the open chest, pulling out her high-end designer smartphone, and dialed a direct three-digit emergency code.

"Put me through to the Chief of Police," Victoria instructed sharply into the phone. "This is Victoria Langford. I am at the Starlight Ballroom on Market Street. I am holding a fugitive kidnapping suspect, and I require an immediate federal wiretap and asset freeze on Hayes Enterprises."

The ballroom was chaotic now.

Guests were grabbing their coats, whispering frantically, and pulling out their phones to record the unprecedented spectacle.

The escaped prisoner—whose name I now knew was Elena Vance—cradled her daughter Clara tightly against her orange jumpsuit, rocking her gently as paramedics rushed through the shattered doors with a medical kit.

"You saved her," Elena whispered, looking up at Victoria with tearful, profound gratitude. "Even after everything he told you about me... you believed us."

"He told me you were a disgruntled former employee who tried to ruin his company," Victoria said, her jaw set in stone. "He lied about everything. But the truth has a funny way of crashing the party."

Outside, the wailing sirens of multiple police cruisers echoed closer, signaling the arrival of the authorities who would finally dismantle Alexander Hayes's glittering house of cards.
