PART 6: The Emergency Boardroom Showdown

PART 6: The Emergency Boardroom Showdown
Corporate boardrooms witness ultimate generational justice.
By 10:00 a.m., the emergency board meeting on the fiftieth floor of Sterling Tower was already underway, though it bore no resemblance to any corporate gathering in the company’s history.
The long mahogany table was packed with tense, sweating executives, jittery shareholders, and corporate attorneys whispering frantically among themselves.
The heavy oak doors swung open.
Julian walked in.
He wasn't wearing his usual corporate armor of rigid suits and polite smiles; he wore a sharp charcoal blazer, his eyes cold, focused, and carrying the absolute authority of a man holding all the cards.
Behind him walked Marcus, the estate security chief, carrying a thick leather briefcase.
And sitting at the far end of the table, looking pale, disheveled, and wearing the same black dress from the gala the night before, was Victoria.
She had dragged herself to the board meeting, desperately hoping to rally her loyalists and salvage what remained of her executive power.
"Julian," Victoria breathed out, standing up from her chair at the head of the table, her voice trembling. "Thank God you're here. We need to issue a press statement immediately. We can claim the DNA report was falsified by a disgruntled—"
"Sit down, Victoria," Julian interrupted, his voice dropping into a register so cold and final that the entire boardroom went dead silent.
Victoria froze. "What did you just call me?"
"I called you by your name, because you no longer deserve the title of mother," Julian said evenly, walking down the length of the table and taking the seat at the absolute head—the seat Victoria had occupied for thirty years.
He placed his hands flat on the polished wood.
"Mr. Chairman—this is an outrage!" one of Victoria’s loyalist board members sputtered, standing up. "Mrs. Sterling built this company! You can't just usurp executive control because of a personal family dispute!"
"It's not a personal dispute," Julian replied, nodding to Marcus.
Marcus unzipped the leather briefcase and dropped heavy manila folders in front of every board member.
"Open page four," Julian commanded.
The executives flipped open the folders. As their eyes scanned the certified probate documents, the SEC filings, and the verified asset transfer ledgers, the color drained from their faces one by one.
"This... this is impossible," the chief financial officer stammered, looking up at Julian in sheer terror. "A controlling majority... fifty-one percent... held in trust by a minor?"
"Not just any minor," Julian said, a grim, satisfied smile touching the corners of his mouth. "My son, Leo. Which means, effective immediately, Victoria Sterling is formally stripped of all executive authority, voting rights, and corporate privileges within the Sterling Group."
Victoria gasped, clutching her chest as she stared across the table.

"No," she whispered, shaking her head in frantic denial. "No! I built this empire! I made us who we are! You can't do this to me!"
"We aren't doing anything to you, Mother," Julian said quietly, locking his piercing gray eyes onto hers for the final time. "We're just letting the math catch up to you."
